Emergency Phones

The HSC Police Department currently monitors and maintains over 20 emergency phones that have been strategically installed throughout the campus.
The emergency phones have a touch button that has direct line access to the HSC Police Department at any time. The pole, blue strobe light, and the word “EMERGENCY” stenciled on three sides identify the emergency phones. Once the talk button is activated, the caller can speak directly with a police dispatcher. Officers respond to all emergency phone calls. These phones can be used for the following reasons:

  • To report suspicious activity or persons
  • Lost or in need of directions
  • Vehicle Emergencies
  • Report an incident or offense
  • If being followed

The emergency phones serve the same purpose as a courtesy phone, with the added feature of the strobe light that attracts attention in case of a real emergency.
