Media contacts

The media team helps put HSC in front of large audiences by identifying and pitching stories to the media and working with members of the media searching for experts to interview for stories. Team members serve as the primary media contact and public information officer for HSC, and are available to assist the media and help HSC experts prepare for interviews or respond to reporters’ questions.

HSC Media Policy

Media should not contact HSC faculty, staff or students directly. All inquiries should be routed through the communications team at HSCmedia@unthsc.edu.

Please include the name of the media outlet, deadline and any art needed for the story, as well as the topic and people/person to be interviewed.

HSC Branding

The official name of this institution is The University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth.

Please note:
• “The” is part of the official name, so it is capitalized when the full name is used.
• “University of North Texas” is always spelled out when the full name is used.
• “at Fort Worth” is part of the official name so it always is included when the full name is used.

On first reference, please use the entire name.

On second and all subsequent references, there are several approved alternatives:

• HSC. All caps, never lowercase (except in the logo). Do not use “the” before HSC.
• HSC at Fort Worth. Once again, no “the.”
• HSC Fort Worth
• the Health Science Center. Can be used with or without “at Fort Worth” depending on the context and writer preference. “The” is only capitalized if it begins the sentence.

FAQS

HSC is part of the University of North Texas System but is a separate university. The campus is home to six separate schools: Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine, School of Biomedical Sciences, School of Health Professions, College of Pharmacy, School of Public Health, and the College of Nursing.

HSC Health is the clinical arm of the university. The onsite doctors see a wide range of patients, including children, older adults and everything in between. The clinic accepts most major insurance providers.

Our Institutes and Centers are critical components of HSC’s academic, research and service infrastructure. They play an important role in enabling and strengthening the multi-disciplinary and interprofessional programs.
