Grants
A grant is a type of financial aid based on financial need that the student does not have to repay. At UNTHSC, grant award amounts vary from $500 to $2,000 depending on availability of funds per award year, terms enrolled, and program of study. Grants are awarded on a first-come first-served basis to students with the most need (based on student’s EFC) and may include one of the following.
TPEG Resident or TPEG Non-Resident (Texas Public Education Grant)
- Limited funds available- awards are first-come, first-serve
- Must have exceptional need
- Must enroll at least half-time (in a degree seeking program)
- Must meet Financial Aid SAP
- Must be registered for the Selective Service or be exempt from this requirement
UNTHSC Tuition Grant
- Must be a Texas Resident
- Limited funds available- awards are first-come, first-serve
- Must have exceptional need
- Must enroll at least half-time (in a degree seeking program)
- Must meet Financial Aid SAP
You are automatically considered for grants when you submit your FAFSA and are admitted to UNTHSC. Texas residents who are non-U.S. citizens can submit a TASFA. Funds are limited, so APPLY EARLY.
