The University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth is a public academic health science center that offers the nation’s most comprehensive medical science education on a single campus. It is part of the University of North Texas System Enterprise and was founded in 1970 as the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine. Today, the The University of North Texas Health Science Center consists of five schools that specialize in patient-centered education, research and health care. In the late 19th century, Fort Worth became an important trading post for cowboys at the end of the Chisholm Trail. Today, it’s a modern city, with international art institutions, plenty of five-star restaurants and multiple options for entertainment. The historic Fort Worth Stockyards are home to rodeos, shopping, and the National Cowgirl Museum.
