Sara Murphy

Sarah Murphy – Office of Organizational Excellence
At work, Sarah Murphy is dedicated to UNTHSC and it shows in the way she strives to support others, look for innovative solutions and balance her many roles. Others say she has shown amazing respect and integrity as lead in the Continuous Improvement Initiative, but her dedication doesn’t stop there.
Away from campus, she’s just as dedicated to serving others first by volunteering with Big Brothers Big Sisters. This Big Sister went beyond simply spending time with her “little,” she helped her overcome many challenges to graduate in the top 10 percent of her high school class.

Nominated by: Thomas Fairchild, Stephen Barrett and Dan Feely and Jeff Wyatt with TSI – Transforming Solutions

Cara Fisher

Cara Fisher – Center for Anatomical Sciences
Cara Fisher has a true passion for teaching anatomy.

It’s not enough to do her job teaching about 560 UNTHSC students every year. She comes in early, works through her lunch and often stays late to make sure other educational events that the Anatomy Lab hosts go smoothly. She recently came in before sunrise to set up for an event.

Her sensitivity, care and respect for others shows through her involvement in the Willed Body program. With a great deal of care, she assures each family that their loved one will be treated with the utmost respect and that they will be teaching others beyond their time on earth.

Nominated by: Dr. Rusty Reeves

Susan Rogers

Susan Rogers – Institute for Cardiovascular and Metabolic Diseases
Cheerful, enthusiastic and happy. Those are a few of the traits that co-workers have used to describe Susan Rogers. When someone asks for help, she stops everything and gives them her undivided attention.

She’s someone who knows all the institutional rules and regulations and can be trusted to always do the right thing. On those rare occasions when she doesn’t know the answer, she quickly finds it. She’s the go-to person for everything from solving work issues to helping organize a baby shower.

Nominated by: Styliani Goulopoulou, Caroline Rickards and Keisa Mathis

Facilities Team

The Facilities Team
Jason Hartley, Barbara Gensemer, Patricia Dossey, Tasha Allen, Brian Blankenship, Cory Brewer, Maria Castaneda, Larry Clark, Jerry Emerson, Michael Glover, Jonathan Jimenez, David Lipe, Lester Moreland, Craig Rowland, Miguel Talavera, Felipe Vasquez, Seth Wilmoth, Joseph Williams and Terry Rogers.
The friendly faces of the Facilities Team are always ready to assist others in so many ways – from breaking down events to moving anything and everything across campus.

If there’s a need, they set out to meet it, even if it’s not in their job description. When UNTHSC started recycling ink cartridges and batteries in 2012, the response was more than anyone anticipated. But the team jumped in to help, staying on top of the daily collection, even though it was not their responsibility.

This dedicated group keeps the campus clean, organized and safe for everyone.

Nominated by: Sandy Bauman, Jennifer Nanni and Lori Knowles
