OUR VALUES JOURNEY
December 2012 – Dr. Williams Joined UNT Health as President after leading a hospital from one of the lowest in patient safety and employee retention rankings to a nationally recognized Best Place to Work and a National Baldridge Award Winner.
2014 – UNT Health set out to deliberately change a culture that was not where it needed to be and to build a positive culture based on values.
2015 – UNT Health partnered with People Ink and utilized the “Built On Values” process to create a values-based culture where team members thrive.
2015 through 2022 – UNT Health implemented values-centric programs and increased employee engagement by over 25 percentage points.
August 2022 – New Chancellor’s vision: By 2026 the UNT System is one team, values-driven and customer-focused with an emphasis on excellence, curiosity, and innovation.
October 2022 – Every employee in the UNT System was invited to participate in a values survey and core teams began building on the results.
November 2022 – More than 125 people across all System campuses came together with the surveys and collaborated over two full days to establish new system-wide values and behaviors.
February 2023 – UNT Health began the next phase of its values journey, creating better alignment and a more unified culture with the entire UNT System.
