This innovative program requires 60 earned, transferred credit hours from an accredited undergraduate institution and is based on applied biology directed towards understanding health and disease. During your time enrolled in the School of Biomedical Sciences, you will gain extensive knowledge of human biology including genetics, anatomy, physiology, and behavior.

This program prepares our students for a variety of career opportunities or admission to an advanced science or professional health care program such as medical, dental, veterinary and pharmacy schools just to name a few.

Graduate Programs

SBS takes great pride in shaping the future of the biomedical workforce with three focus areas: education, student service, and research. Our students are educators, researchers, and health care professionals of tomorrow.

Programs range from traditional bench science research programs (MS/PhD Traditional) to master-level science programs that prepare students for careers in science or professional medical programs.

Residence Credit Hour Requirements

For all degrees awarded, and in accordance with accreditation guidelines under the Southern Association of College and Schools (SACSCOC), a minimum of 25% of the baccalaureate coursework and a minimum of 33% of graduate coursework must be taken at the Health Science Center to receive a degree from the institution. The minimum applies to all baccalaureate coursework including courses taken the first two years of college. For example, a degree that requires a total of 120 semester credit hours calls for 30 semester credit hours to be earned via official coursework at the Health Science Center.
