Chemical Safety Home
The Chemical Safety manual provides all HSC employees, students, and visitors with an institution approved set of guidelines and procedures for the safe procurement, storage, use, and disposal of hazardous chemicals. “Hazardous chemicals” or “chemical” refers to an element, compound, or mixture of elements or compounds that are a physical or health hazard as defined by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards. The scope of this document is to provide a set of guidelines and best practices that apply to all HSC employees and students who handle, store, or dispose of hazardous chemicals and hazardous waste.
