Vice Provost of Community Engagement and Service, Dr. Nicoleta Bugnariu

To further facilitate collaboration between our community partners and HSC faculty, staff, and students, I am pleased to announce Dr. Nicoleta Bugnariu, PT, Ph.D., has accepted the position of Vice Provost, Community Engagement and Service.

In this role, Dr. Bugnariu will work collaboratively with our Colleges and the Community and Alumni Relations Team to create more opportunities for community involvement, extend the reach of the HSC’s academic resources, and enhance economic development across the region. Dr. Bugnariu will serve as a key academic contact to connect HSC faculty expertise with community needs and opportunities. She will conduct an inventory of our existing efforts and explore strategies and infrastructure to further support engagement activities. Additionally, she will identify opportunities to further recognize and promote publicly engaged scholarship by faculty, staff and students, as well as experiential and service-learning opportunities for students to be immersed in meaningful and sustainable relationships throughout the region.

With multiple degrees including a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the University of Ottawa and a Master of Business Administration from TCU’s Neely School of Business, Dr. Bugnariu brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to this position having worked more than 20 years in academia and community outreach.
