Graduate Medical Education (GME) at LGMC

LGMC is currently in process of seeking accreditation for programs in various specialties, including Dermatology, Dermatopathology, Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology, Family Medicine, and Osteopathic Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine.

The mission of the Graduate Medical Education Office at LGMC is to foster the development of rigorous, high-quality, comprehensive, and culturally relevant graduate medical education programs that enable our residents and fellows to become independent physicians, scholars, and leaders who will improve health care in our community, Texas, and our nation by providing safe, high-quality, and innovative care, both now and in the future.

Lake Granbury Medical Center

Lake Granbury Medical Center (LGMC) is an 83-bed community hospital locate d in Granbury, Texas.  It provides medical and advanced surgical care to Hood, Somervell, and Erath County residents.  The hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission and has accredited Chest Pain Center, Sleep Lab and radiology program.

LGMC received Initial Accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education as a Sponsoring Institution and is currently working on residency program applications.  This is the only ACGME accredited facility in Hood County.

Stipend & Benefits

Standard benefits package commensurate as for all LGMC employees, inclusive of medical, dental, and vision benefits, as well as other offerings described in the CHS Benefits Guide current at the time of hiring.

  • PGY1 – $ 58,000
  • PGY2 – $ 60,000
  • PGY3 – $ 61,000
  • PGY4 – $ 62,000

Medical Student Rotation

LGMC GME will consider applications for medical student rotations that occur during their 3rd and 4th year of school, including Audition Rotations. For the office to process these requests, an affiliation agreement between the school and LGMC must be in place before the it is considered. Agreements and requests must be received 60 days in advanced.

Once requests have been approved, students will be notified of onboarding requirements to be sent prior to the start date.
