2.1 The course learning objectives, or course/program competencies, describe outcomes that are measurable. 2.2 The module/unit learning objectives or competencies describe outcomes that are measurable and consistent with the course-level objectives or competencies. 2.3 All learning objectives or competencies are stated clearly and written from the learner’s perspective. 2.4 The relationship between learning objectives or competencies and course activities is clearly stated. 2.5 The learning objectives or competencies are suited to the level of the course. © 2014. Standard 2 Checklist

Write your course level objectives by beginning with the end in mind. (Consider skills and abilities you want student to obtain by the end of your course.) (2.1)

Draft specific learning objectives for each module or unit that align to course level objectives. (2.2)

Limit your list of objectives for each module or unit.  (2.2)

Write objectives in student friendly voice. (2.3)

All verbs used in learning objectives should be observable. (Bloom’s verbs). (2.2)

Clearly state learning objectives. (2.3)

The relationship between learning objectives and activities is obvious to the student. (2.4)
