Graduate Certificate in Geographic Information Systems (GIS)

Working professionals can advance their public health training with our new Graduate Certificate in Geographic Information Systems (GIS). The 15-semester credit hour graduate certificate in GIS consists of five 3-SCH courses that can be taken completely online in 8-week terms. The certificate is designed to allow working professionals to gain additional skills in public health and GIS.

Participants who complete the program and earn the certificate will be able to demonstrate the following essential public health competencies:

  • Understand geographic information science principles in the context of public health.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of methods of the geospatial analysis of public health information.
  • Apply appropriate geospatial methods to public health research, practice, and policy.
  • Use GIS software and geodatabase design to access, manage, and analyze spatial health data.

Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Management

Working professionals may now enhance their training through the Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Management. This fully online certificate consists of five courses or 15-credit hours. Courses in this certificate program are taught in an 8-week format online. Through the GCHM program, students will not only become more well-rounded professionals but will also be transformed into competent and highly effective healthcare leaders of tomorrow.

Financial aid is not available for graduate certificate students. Private/alternative loans can be discussed with the Office of Financial Aid.

Graduate Certificate in Public Health

Working professionals can advance their public health training with our new Graduate Certificate in Public Health. The certificate consists of 15-credit hours of the five core public health concept courses that are required of all MPH graduates. Upon completion of the Certificate, students earning a grade of B or better in each course who are admitted to the MPH program may apply all fifteen credit hours to their MPH degree.

Complete your certificate with just 5 online classes. Students typically take two courses in the fall, two in the spring, and one in the summer. Most students complete the certificate in one year. Selected courses are offered each semester (including summer), both online and in-person. Upon completion of the Certificate, students earning a grade of B or better in each course who are admitted to the MPH program may apply all fifteen credit hours to their degree program.
