UNT Health Science Center announces new executive vice president of clinical affairs and business development

The University of North Texas Health Science Center, Fort Worth’s medical school and more, announced the appointment of Kathleen Forbes, M.D., as its new executive vice president of clinical affairs and business development, effective March 1.

Dr. Forbes will work closely with UNT Health President and CEO Randall Jones and the UNT Health Board to oversee clinical quality, innovation, performance improvement and business development, while collaborating with local hospitals on projects and alliances that will benefit the community.

She comes to the Health Science Center from TriHealth Health System in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she was vice president of medical affairs/chief medical officer and chief quality officer.

Dr. Forbes earned a Master of Medical Management from the American College of Physician Executives/Carnegie Mellon University, in Pittsburgh; a Medical Doctorate from Medical College of Ohio in Toledo, Ohio; and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Psychology from Bowling Green State University.

She is on the board of directors for the Consolidated Health Services, a member of the Catholic Health Initiatives Physician Executive Council, the executive steering committee and the medical directors’ council for the Greater Cincinnati Health Council Quality Improvement Project, the National Healthcare Quality Roundtable, the Leadership Institute, and the National Healthcare Chief Medical Officers Roundtable.
