UNT Health Science Center adds Stewart as new cardiologist

The University of North Texas Health Science Center recently added cardiologist Richard E. Stewart, M.D., to its faculty and physician group.

Dr. Stewart joined the Department of Internal Medicine as an associate professor of medicine in the Division of Cardiology.

Prior to arriving at UNT Health Science Center, Dr. Stewart was in private practice as a coronary and endovascular interventionalist in Rockford, Ill. He was also a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine, Cardiology Section, at the St. Louis University Health Science Center School of Medicine, St. Louis, Mo.

He served his residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in nuclear medicine at University of Michigan Hospitals, Ann Arbor and a cardiology fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio. Dr. Stewart also served fellowships in interventional cardiology (William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak, Mich.) and a vascular interventional cardiology fellowship (Galichia Research Institute, Inc., Wichita, Kan.).

Dr. Stewart is board certified in internal medicine (for both Cardiovascular Diseases and Interventional Cardiology) and nuclear medicine, and is seeing patients at the Patient Care Center, 855 Montgomery, on the Fort Worth campus of UNTHSC. Appointments can be made by calling 817-735-2660.
