TCOM students participate in DOME Day at state capitol

Fifty-five Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine students traveled to Austin on Feb. 23 for DOME Day. DOs for Medical Excellence (DOME) Day is a free advocacy event that unites doctors of osteopathy and students with their elected officials to talk about priority issues.

Osteopathic medical students had the opportunity to learn the legislative process firsthand as they participated actively in official capitol appointments with senators, representatives, chiefs of staff and legislative aids. Physicians and students took the lead in influencing medical legislation that affects access to good, safe, quality health care for patients and medical practices.
