Commencement is May 14 at TCU

Steven A. Wartman, MD, PhD, will speak at the UNT Health Science Center commencement ceremony on May 14.

The ceremony will take place at 3 p.m. in Daniel-Meyer Coliseum at Texas Christian University. Tickets are not required for admission to the commencement ceremony, and there is no limit to the number of people a student may invite. A live streaming video of the event will be available for those unable to attend.

Commissioning ceremonies for students who will be joining the military will take place immediately following the commencement ceremony.

Wartman is president of the nonprofit Association of Academic Health Centers in Washington, D.C. The organization seeks to advance health and well being through leadership of the nation’s academic health centers. Previously, he was executive vice president for Academic and Health Affairs and dean of the School of Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio.

He is a board-certified internist, sociologist and Master of the American College of Physicians. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Cornell University and MD and PhD degrees from Johns Hopkins University. Wartman has received numerous awards and honorary degrees and is a distinguished professor in the Department of Medicine at Georgetown University and an adjunct professor of medicine at George Washington and Johns Hopkins Universities.
