The University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences has received preliminary accreditation through the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to offer an online bachelor’s degree in biomedical sciences. With the initial cohort slated to begin in the fall, this will be the first undergraduate health program at HSC.

“We are excited to offer an accessible and affordable program for students looking to complete their bachelor’s degree in biomedical sciences,” said Dr. Michael Mathis, Dean of the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. “Our program prepares students to pursue professional careers in a variety of health care fields with a robust curriculum that integrates biomedical and health sciences courses.”

“This is an exciting new chapter for HSC as we continue to identify opportunities for strategic growth while meeting the workforce demands of North Texas,” said Dr. Charles Taylor, Provost and EVP of Academic Affairs. “The addition of an undergraduate health program expands the depth and breadth of what we’re able to provide the next generation of students seeking a career in health care.”

Some of the highlights of the new program include:

  • Convenient, 100% online format
  • Flexible completion in four to six semesters
  • Requires 73 earned, transferred credit hours from an accredited undergraduate institution

Interested students can reach out to the HSC Admissions Team at 817-735-2003 or admissions@unthsc.edu for additional information about enrollment.
