PT students dominate volleyball, soccer and softball at state Olympics

UNT Health Science Center physical therapy students brought home the gold medal in three sports from the Texas PT Olympics.

Our PT students finished 1stin sand volleyball, softball and soccer at the annual event held at UT Health Science Center at San Antonio.

The students also placed 3rd in women’s basketball and the men’s 5K relay, and 4thin the dance competition. (Don’t miss the video of their dance rehearsal).

Overall, the UNTHSC team placed 2ndin the competition, which was founded in 1999. The event draws PT students from across the state for a weekend of games, networking and collaboration. It includes a job fair where PT students meet potential employers from across the state.

“I’m so proud of my classmates for competing hard and making this a successful trip,” said Chelsea Barron, a 2nd-year UNTHSC PT student. “We had a great time together, as well as meeting students from other schools across the state.”
