Bone and Joint Institute to celebrate bigger facility with reception
The public is invited to a reception celebrating the completed expansion of the UNT Health Bone and Joint Institute on Wednesday evening in Fort Worth’s
Medical District.
The Institute — a multidisciplinary group of orthopaedic and podiatric surgeons, as well as a non-operative musculoskeletal assessment team — has expanded in size by 50 percent, adding seven new exam rooms, an additional patient waiting area, physical therapy and a new space for clinical trials and research.
The renovation will allow providers to treat more patients and increase opportunities for education and cutting-edge research, said Russell Wagner, MD, Chairman of Orthopaedic Surgery.
Institute providers currently treat more than 15,000 patients annually.
“When we opened at the Ben Hogan Center in March 2011, we had seven providers,” Dr. Wagner said. “Today we have 21 providers offering full-service musculoskeletal health care. Before our renovation, we were overflowing with patients who needed appointments.”
As the largest musculoskeletal orthopaedic center in Fort Worth, the Bone and Joint Institute offers full head-to-toe orthopaedic services and a sports medicine program that treats high school and college athletes from across North Texas.
Hors d’oevres will be served at the reception.
