Neurosurgeon alum to share experiences at Brain Tumor Walk

Prominent spine and neurological surgeon Rob Dickerman, DO, PhD, will be a guest speaker Saturday at the Dallas-Fort Worth Brain Tumor Walk at Trinity Park in Fort Worth.
Dr. Dickerman, neurosurgeon at North Texas Brain and Spine Institute in Plano, will share patient stories on behalf of Medical Center of Plano, a sponsor of the annual 5K that raises awareness and resources to improve the lives of people impacted by brain tumors.
Dr. Dickerman invited Health Science Center students, staff and faculty to join him at the event to fight a disease that kills almost 15,000 people a year.
“As an alumnus, I feel this is a great way for the Health Science Center to get involved, considering its growing emphasis on brain tumor research,” Dr. Dickerman said. “It is an unrecognized problem and there are new treatments to discover.”
