Honoring “the ultimate connector”
UNT Health Science Center has awarded Michele Reynolds its highest recognition of community service for her commitment to enhancing the university’s outreach and service to Fort Worth.
President Michael R. Williams presented Mrs. Reynolds with the VISION Award at a reception of the HSC Society, a new network of leadership donors to the Health Science Center.
Dr. Williams praised Mrs. Reynolds for her tireless efforts supporting the Health Science Center’s mission and building connections between the university and the community.
“Michele Reynolds is the ultimate connector,” Dr. Williams said. “She is constantly thinking about who needs to know more about the Health Science Center and how to connect them in a meaningful way.”
Mrs. Reynolds has chaired and served on numerous committees, helped create the Healthy Aging Council, hosted HSC events at her home, co-chaired the President’s Invitational Golf Tournament since 2009 and recently agreed to serve as chair of the UNTHSC Foundation Board beginning in January.
“She gives her time, talent and resources to the Health Science Center,” Dr. Williams said. “In the process, she inspires others to do the same.”
The Vision award was established in 2008 community members who strive to help advance the Health Science Center’s mission to create solutions for a healthier community. Previous recipients include Congresswoman Kay Granger and the late Val Wilkie Jr., formerly of the Sid Richardson Foundation.
“I was shocked to realize where Dr. Williams’ comments were headed and overwhelmed with the emotions of being honored with the VISION Award,” Mrs. Reynolds said. “I am humbled by this recognition and grateful to have the opportunity to work with and learn from educators, researchers and leaders who will, in fact, impact our community and our lives.”
