Public is invited to view young artists’ work
During April, the UNT Health Science Center Atrium Gallery comes alive with teen artists’ creativity. Beginning Monday, the annual High School Art Competition will exhibit the work of talented 11th– and 12th-graders.
Since 1985, this competition and show has given young people an opportunity to exhibit their best works in mixed media, color graphics, printmaking, photography, black and white drawing, three-dimensional art, painting and computer design.
This year’s competition drew hundreds of entries from 20 school districts including Fort Worth, Aledo, Granbury and Keller.
The Atrium Gallery, on the first floor of the Everett Building at 3500 Camp Bowie Blvd. in Fort Worth hosts 10 to 12 shows a year featuring diverse works. The gallery is open to the public free of charge 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The High School Art Competition exhibit continues through April 26.
