What will you be doing in your role at UNTHSC and your practice site?

I joined UNTHSC as an Assistant Professor in July 2021 and have been working at Walmart Central Pharmacy providing Medication Therapy Management services to patients across the nation.

Why did you choose pharmacy as a profession?

Growing up as a child of Nigerian immigrants, I realized the profound effects both communicable and chronic non-communicable diseases could have on individuals, especially in minority and vulnerable populations. I was also able to witness the great impact pharmacists had in tackling such issues/concerns. I wanted to be a part of the mission of reducing the impact of chronic diseases and empowering individuals to take control of their health.

What do you enjoy most about being a pharmacist?

I enjoy being able to provide education to patients about their medications and empower them with the resources needed to manage their chronic diseases.

Fun fact:

I enjoy singing at my local church. I also enjoy dancing, spending time with family and loved ones, catching up on my favorite shows, and decorating!
