Associate Professor & Director of Skills Laboratory Experiences, Department of Pharmacotherapy
Dr. Jennifer Fix is an associate professor of pharmacotherapy at HSC’s College of Pharmacy and an associate professor of family medicine for HSC’s Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Prior to coming to HSC, she owned and operated an independent pharmacy in North Texas for 25 years. Her store was a traditional community pharmacy that included nonsterile compounding and a variety of professional services. When the Texas Legislature required certification for pharmacy technicians, she started assisting technicians with exam preparation by helping them brush up on math, law and basic pharmacology — and she hasn’t stopped.

With the goal of helping learners enter the workforce as a pharmacy technician, this course is comprehensive, covering concepts in pharmaceutical calculations, law, and pharmacology. It includes nearly 40 chapters of content, and more than 20 hours of instruction. The course is planned for 80 hours of effort to complete, across a recommended 12 week period.
