Design Tools>Design Plus Upgrade

Design Tools has upgraded to Design Plus! Design Plus provides users with a streamlined and intuitive experience.

How do I switch from Design Tools to Design Plus?

When you open Design Tools, a prompt will open asking if you would like to switch to DesignPlus.
Shift-alt-v also switches you to DesignPlus or back to DesignTools.

How do I upgrade a course shell?

Courses for Spring 2024 do not need to be upgrade. However, we highly recommend that the courses from Summer 2024 and forward are upgraded to the new DesignPlus. For assistance upgrading a course, contact canvas@unthsc.edu.

How can I learn about the new DesignPlus?

The best guide for learning about the new DesignPlus is the DesignPlus User Guide developed by Cidi Labs. We recommend starting with the Introduction module.
The DesignPlus User Guide can also be accessed through the DesignPlus toolbar by clicking the “?” in the blue top bar then scrolling down to User Guides.

From now until June 30th, DesignTools will still be the default with the ability to switch to DesignPlus.
On July 1st, DesignPlus will be the default, but a user can still switch to Design Tools.
On October 1st, DesignTools will be deactivated, and all users must use DesignPlus.
