OER Week October 23-29

October 23rd-29th is Open Access week.

Open Educational Resources “are teaching, learning, and research materials in any medium – digital or otherwise – that reside in the public domain or have been released under an open license that permits no-cost access, use, adaptation, and redistribution by others with no or limited restrictions.* ” Below are resources to help beginning to advanced OER users:

  • Explore the OER page created by the Gibson D. Lewis Library.
  • Creative Commons is an organization that promotes open access, in part through Creative Commons licenses, which you can use to share your own content!
  • CloudSourceOAThis is a new database of only Open Access materials many of which are OER.  All items in this database can be used in courses, publications, microcredential courses, and shared freely (restriction on how they can be used will be based on the license which is clearly shown).
  • Copyright Review Service – Not sure if a resource can be used in your course? Utilize the Copyright Review Service by the UNTHSC Lewis Library staff.

For more information about OER, contact HSC librarian Elizabeth Speer or canvas@unthsc.edu
