Senior Vice President and Chief of External Affairs, Office of the President
Tim Doke, calling upon almost 40 years of experience in advising CEOs on a broad range of opportunities and issues, provides strategic council to President Michael Williams on a number of vital University initiatives.
Before taking on his new assignment, Doke led the Community Engagement team for 2 ½ years, where he supervised communications, institutional advancement, community relations, advertising, marketing, media relations, executive communications, web services and alumni relations. He served as a key liaison with the business community, key foundations and civic organizations.
Doke joined the UNT Health Science Center from UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, where he served as Vice President of Communications, Marketing and Public Affairs. Over the course of a lengthy and distinguished career, Doke spent 10 years as Vice President-Corporate Communications at American Airlines headquarters in Fort Worth, and also held the most senior communications positions at Dell Inc., Alaska Airlines, Brinker International, and Freescale Semiconductor. His agency and corporate portfolio included broad international experience, government relations and foundation management. Prior to moving into corporate work, he spent 10 years with the public relations consulting firm of Hill & Knowlton.
As a result of his work at American Airlines during and following the events of 9/11, the Public Relations Society of America recognized Doke in 2002 as Public Relations Professional of the Year.
Doke is a member of the boards of the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Fort Worth Inc. and the Arts Council of Fort Worth.
