We are wrapping up this month with our third and final candidate for the Dean, School of Health Professions.

Wilson Stanley Small

I’m pleased to share a brief bio about Dr. Stanley Hanson Wilson, PT, EdD, CEAS

For the past five years, Dr. Stanley Hanson Wilson has served as an Associate Professor and Dean of Nova Southeastern University’s Pallavi Patel College of Health Care Sciences in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He began his employment at NSU in 1996 as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy and has transitioned to a number of other positions within the college, including Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, Associate Dean for Rehabilitation Services, and Chair of the Department of Physical Therapy.

Dr. Wilson’s academic leadership experience at NSU is complemented by his prior experience as Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Physical Therapy at Howard University in Washington, D.C., Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy at Florida International University in Miami, and several clinical appointments in South Florida and Virginia.

As a licensed physical therapist in Florida, he has practiced in both clinical and academic settings. He has been an academician for twenty-eight years, teaching in many health care subject areas. In his roles as Associate Dean and Dean, he was the architect of the establishment of several college academies (Teaching and Learning, Research, Leadership and Management, and Academy for Career Enrichment) that enhance faculty and staff development, initiatives that have been adopted by the entire university. His record of scholarly accomplishments include author of many peer-reviewed manuscripts, abstracts and presentations; investigator of grant funded research activities and been recognized for leadership roles in professional and community service organizations.

Dr. Wilson received his Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from Howard University, Master of Science in Health Management from St. Thomas University, and Doctor of Education in Adult Education & Human Resource Development from Florida International University.
