In the 1980s, he earned the title of king of the movie soundtrack. He’s responsible for the cult classic Caddyshack’s smash “I’m Alright” and for the title song of the No. 1 blockbuster Footloose. For Tom Cruise’s Top Gun, he scored a track (“Playing With The Boys”) and performed the movie’s indelible hit “Danger Zone.”

Michael McDonald’s distinctive vocal style has drawn audiences for the past four decades, including stints with two of rocks stellar acts, Steely Dan and the Doobie Brothers, and as a solo artist.

As a Doobie Brothers singer, keyboardist and songwriter, he was the guiding force behind such Top 40 singles as “Takin’ It To The Streets,” “It Keeps You Runnin’” and “Minute By Minute.”
