CBTS Diversity Seminar Series feat. Dr. Daniel Gonzales
Dr. Daniel L. Gonzales, is a Howard Hughes Medical Institute(HHMI) Hanna Gray postdoctoral fellow in the Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering at Purdue University. He currently worksin the Nano-Neurotechnology Laboratory under Dr. KrishnaJayant developing interfaces to probe neural activity at thenanoscale. He is a first-generation college student and nativeTexan, receiving his BS in Physics from Angelo State Universityand PhD in Applied Physics from Rice University.
Learning Objectives:
1. Learn about next-generation neural interfaces and their role in understanding cognition
2. Hear a personal perspective through academia as a first-generation college student
3. Consider the factors that contribute to success in science for marginalized communities
