Students, faculty, and staff are getting a new studio space for videos, webcasts, distance learning and more

UNTHSC is opening up two new studio spaces for faculty, staff, and students.
Faculty and staff will have access to a reservable studio space featuring a configurable design to promote the creation of high-quality educational media.

Students will have access to a walk-in studio and editing room and will be able to check out additional equipment from Lewis Library.

The studios, currently under construction on the fourth floor of Lewis Library, are scheduled to be available October 2018. They will accommodate the needs of distance learning, skill demonstrations, patient interaction videos, and much more.

Faculty and staff will have access to:
• Studio space with cameras, lights and audio equipment
• Adjustable-height table with overhead cameras and examining table
• A green screen and Learning Glass
• Sound booth for voice-over recordings and podcasts
• Interview area
• Editing room
These materials will allow for live webcasting, and recording of lectures that can be shared directly within Canvas or posted as a URL. There will also be room for panel interviews with up to four experts as well as space for patient interaction and communication videos.

The walk-in studio space for students will feature:
• Studio lights
• Editing room
• Sound booth

These additions are made possible through collaborative efforts among Office of Brand and Communication, Incedo, CETS, the Center for Innovative Learning, and the Lewis Library.

The main studio designated for faculty and staff must be reserved in advance and used with a collaborating media specialist at all times. All facilities will require badge access.

This is the first time UNTHSC has offered a shared media space for everyone on campus to use. Watch Daily News for updates.
