Our Journey Continues: Time to schedule coaching sessions

As a part of Our Values Journey, the Office of People Development (OPD) designed the UNTHSC coaching program to partner competent and credible coaches with individuals, teams and groups to help them identify and achieve challenging goals aligned with the UNTHSC SEE_2020 Roadmap and unit initiatives. The coaching program began in 2014 with coach training for all individuals in supervisory positions and every team member matched with their supervisor as coach.

In 2015, we designed a three-step methodology for coaching conversations and began training coaches across campus to incorporate the International Coach Federation core competencies. Then, in 2016, a design team of faculty and staff designed a new coaching plan option to better meet the needs of individuals across campus. The coaching plan can be found here.

Our journey continues with exciting new developments in the coaching program, including coach-match pilot projects in which individuals in selected departments may choose to be matched with a coach other than their supervisor and, coming soon, information and resources about a new journaling feature within the Staff Performance Feedback application for team members to update their goals based on their coaching conversations.

As we build a sustainable people culture, it is important to have regular coaching sessions for individual and team growth and development. If you have not already scheduled your fall semester coaching session, please work with your supervisor to set up your coaching session before the December holiday break.
