New procedures & faces of the Custodial Department

Hello! My name is Marc Melanson and I’m your new custodial manager. I wanted to make a brief announcement about some big changes within our team.

First and foremost, it is with great pleasure that I announce the promotion of our day shift Senior Custodian, Maricruz Peña, to Custodial Foreperson. Maricruz has been on our custodial team since January of 2014. She will be assisting me with the day-to-day functions of our custodial department and act on my behalf when I’m not immediately available. Please include her in all communications directed towards our department.
In an effort to compartmentalize and streamline custodial requests, I’m asking for all requests be put into our work order software ARCHIBUS found in the link below:

As I’m building the custodial team, my goal is to have requests completed and closed out within one-two weeks (depending on the size of the job) from time of submission (please include a deadline if possible). If there is an immediate need for a particular request, please feel free to reach out to me through email at or call me at extension 0116 to discuss the particulars. As always, all emergency requests need to be called in through extension 2181.

My team and I want to provide the best service possible to our campus community. It is my belief that we all play a critical part and shared responsibility in keeping this campus clean and safe for all who come here. It is my mission to ensure the safety and well-being of my staff so that they may in turn be able to provide the level of service our campus and our students need to live out the mission of our university.
