Position Description: Postdoctoral Research Associate in Translational Pre-clinical Discovery Science at the UNTHSC in Fort Worth, Texas in the Department of Pharmacology & Neuroscience. Pleasant, low cost-of-living area of DFW with nationally competitive salary. Minimum requirements include current permission to work in the USA, a PhD or DSc research degree in a lab bench-based quantitative life science such as chemistry, biology, neuroscience, pharmacology, pharmaceutics or bioengineering from an accredited institution, outstanding English reading, writing, oral communication and comprehension skills, a strong record of first author publications, extensive experience working in a non-clinical laboratory setting, and strong working knowledge of laboratory machinery. There are multiple funded ongoing projects related to the discovery and development of mechanistically new therapeutic and disease prevention agents, and applied eco-friendly biotechnology projects. • 3+ years of prior laboratory bench work experience including cell culture, radioligand binding, cell signaling, ELISA assays as well as basic molecular biology, protein chemistry, spectroscopy, microscopy, and animal behavioral and surgical techniques.
• Ability and willingness to write and publish peer-reviewed manuscripts and to write and receive postdoctoral level grants.
