For the safety of our students, employees and patients, HSC has declared a Winter Weather Emergency starting at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23, through Feb. 24. Campus will be closed, but business operations will continue virtually aside from essential services. The weather forecast projects freezing temperatures and a wintery mix of rain, sleet, ice and snow until Thursday afternoon. Hazardous road conditions are likely, and intermittent power outages are possible.

Under the Winter Weather Emergency:

  • All classes and business operations were closed at 3 p.m. on Feb. 23. Business operations will resume virtually on Thursday, Feb. 24.
  • All classes and rotations are canceled for Thursday, Feb. 24.
  • HSC Health is canceling in-person appointments and will offer only virtual services.
  • The Library and the FAC will remain closed during this time.
  • Only employees essential to daily operations will report to campus. All other employees will work remotely or have the option of taking paid time off. Supervisors will reach out to their employees about expectations for remote work.
  • Decisions about Friday, Feb. 25, will be announced on Thursday, Feb. 24.

HSC leadership will continue monitoring weather and road conditions. You will receive more information, if necessary, through the HSC RED ALERT! Emergency Notification System.
