Emergency communications to be TESTED at 3 p.m. Dec. 12. DO NOT call police–only a test!

Don’t be alarmed! Don’t call the UNTHSC Police! It’s only a test!

At 3 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 12, we will test our emergency notification system.

This will be a comprehensive test that includes the following:

• Red Alert notifications sent by phone, text and email. The phone calls and texts will come from 817-735-2000.
• All Alert Beacons on campus will be tested. For a short period of time – less than one minute – expect them to flash and display a TEST message.
• There will be a TEST emergency banner on the UNTHSC website.
• TEST posts will appear on our institutional Facebook and Twitter pages.

Please do not call UNTHSC Police upon receiving a test message. Unnecessary calls could delay police response to an actual emergency.

Also, remember to update your Red Alert contact information before the test. Here’s how to do it:

Students
• Go to myHSC, also available from a link at the top of the Insite intranet and UNTHSC website home page
• Click on “Academic Portal”
• Click on “Profile”
• Click on “Red Alert”

Employees
• Go to myHSC, also available from a link at the top of the Insite intranet and UNTHSC website home pages
• Click on “Employee Portal”

• Click on “Update your information.”

If you have any questions about the emergency notification test, or if you experience any issue with receiving the test message, please e-mail safety@unthsc.edu.
