Dr. Dimitrios Karamichos, Executive Director of NTERI, and Professor in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Pharmacology & Neuroscience, has been appointed chair of the National Institutes of Health Pathophysiology of Eye Disease 2 (PED2) Study Section of the Center for Scientific Review.
Dr Karamichos research aims to discover, develop, and deliver novel therapies for the treatment of corneal trauma, diseases, and dystrophies. Dr. Karamichos ’s work is funded by the NIH and the National Eye Institute (NEI). His lab collaborates with other Departments/ Institutes at HSC, as well as with labs/ clinical sites throughout the world.
