Dr. Rita Patterson Bio

Associate Dean at the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine

I am a biomedical engineer that has worked in a medical school environment for my entire career, applying engineering principles to medical problems, learning the language of the clinician and gaining valuable clinical knowledge to be able to translate between medical and technical disciplines. My research focus is in the area of orthopaedics, human performance and rehabilitation.

Department Details: My faculty appointment is in the department of Family and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine. My lab has two staff members - one biomedical engineer and one program project manager. As associate dean for TCOM, I work with the leadership team on all aspects of scholarly activity within the school.
