UNTHSC 2019 Gallup Survey Results

President Michael Williams sent this email to all faculty and staff on May 15, 2019:

Dear Team,

I often say I believe in celebrating our big wins — and the 2019 Gallup Survey results delivered one.

UNTHSC reported a 57 percent rate of employee engagement, exceeding our 2019 target goal of 55 percent. It also was a significant improvement from 46 percent just one year ago.

I am proud to say that our engagement rate was the best in the UNT System, and we ranked in the 85th percentile among all post-secondary education organizations, the new benchmark for which UNTHSC is measured.

This is outstanding news. As you know, employee engagement is key to achieving our strategic goals, and our progress reflects our shared commitment to creating the sustainable people culture that is transforming UNTHSC into a Best Place for All. We will soon communicate plans to celebrate this great success together.

I see signs of a more engaged team every day. Engaged employees live our values, come to work with passion, they drive innovation, increase productivity and believe deeply in our Mission, Vision and Purpose.

Engaged employees fuel the Extraordinary Teamwork that move us closer to fulfilling our vision of becoming One University, built on values, defining and producing the providers of the future.

Our journey isn’t over. Together, we will build on this progress and identify even more ways to promote employee engagement, both as an organization and on the department level.

Managers and supervisors with four or more direct reports who completed the survey will receive a report on their team, and HR will work with teams to better understand the results.
