Today: “Working in the 21st Century” provides skills for working away from your usual place

The Best Place for All – Alternative Work Schedules Committee is hosting a technology training series titled, “Working in the 21st Century.” Each training will provide attendees with helpful tools to work away from your usual work place. Topics include: Skype, Office 365, Cloud Based Storage, VPN and Zoom. The trainings will be hands-on; it is recommended to bring your personal device but you can also come to learn about the topic. Cloud Based Storage: The purpose of this workshop is to provide instructional guidance on cloud based storage, various ways to use it and what to avoid. Participants will also learn about VPN. By the end of this training, participants will be able to successfully navigate cloud based storage, know how to utilize VPN and see how these tools are helpful when working remotely. Feel free to bring your own laptop or just come to learn about the topic.

Office 365: The purpose of this workshop is to provide instructional guidance on Office 365: a program utilizing all aspects of Microsoft Office to create, communicate and collaborate. Participants will also learn about VPN. By the end of this training, participants will be able to successfully navigate Office 365, know how to utilize VPN and see how these two tools are helpful when working remotely. Feel free to bring your own laptop or just come to learn about the topic.

Skype: The purpose of this workshop is to provide instructional guidance on Skype Business and the various ways to use it. Participants will also learn about VPN. By the end of this training, participants will be able to successfully navigate Skype Business, know how to utilize VPN and see how these two tools are helpful when working remotely. Feel free to bring your own laptop or just come to learn about the topic.

Zoom: The purpose of this workshop is to provide instructional guidance on Zoom, a software tool for group or one-to-one video conferencing. Zoom has become one of the premiere tools for synchronous video sessions of online classes and teleconferencing. Monday, Nov. 13, 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Wednesday, Nov. 15, 1 p.m. to 2pm

Friday, Nov. 17, 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Zoom:
Wednesday, Nov. 29, 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Friday, Dec. 1, 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
