Hey everyone! I’m partnering up with Dr. Nelsen, TOGAS, AWS and MSS to provide important clinical education on the topic of Female Genital Mutilation. It’s an all-too-common tradition that is thought to be secluded to 3rd world countries used to oppress women and children, however it’s a pandemic that is very well and alive in the US. This conversation has implications in every facet of medicine so although this appears to be a conversation for aspiring/current OBGYN, FM, and Peds physicians, everyone will walk away with something. In this workshop, we will be breaking down the stereotype and prevalence of FGM, discussing clinical implications on your practice, learning a vulvar suture repair, and a guest speaker will share their own experience and journey to healing. Our hope is to make the HSC community aware of this practice and to provide them with the education to approach these patients with empathy and understanding. Link to RSVP and food is below.
