The National Network of Libraries of Medicine, South Central Region housed at the Gibson D. Lewis Library would like to invite you to join us for the next session of our monthly webinar series.

This monthly 1 hour series will focus on topics of interest to clinicians, researchers, faculty, and information professionals.

For our April session, Cathy Pepper, Medical Librarian and Coordinator of Library Field Services for Texas A&M University, will present Teaching Evidence-Based Medicine: Perspectives of Academic Health Science Institutions at 10am CT on Wednesday, April 11. Description: At the conclusion of the webinar, participants will be able to:
1) Describe methods of teaching evidence-based practice, and of assessing EBP knowledge and skills, at various medical and health sciences schools.

2) Describe content, delivery, and assessment approaches of EBM/EBP in some medical, pharmacy, nursing, public health, and allied health curricula.

3) Identify challenges – and strategies for addressing those challenges – in teaching EBP.

4) Explain the value of teaching evidence-based practice within the context of the availability of sophisticated point-of-care tools, such as UpToDate.

5) Describe variations in librarian participation in EBM/P curricula and courses.
