RISE Team (Redefining Inclusive Solutions for Equity) announces the opening of the RISE Proposal Applications

Dear HSC Team Members:

In President Williams’ message A Plan for a Better Tomorrow, he committed financial support to RISE strategic initiatives focused on HSC’s fight to eliminate racism as a public health issue. These funds will be utilized to emphasize needed work in health disparities and will help create related scholarships, seed funding for research projects, and provide support for the development and implementation of focused educational programs. On December 4, the RISE Team announced the opening of the RISE Proposal Application, which can be found on the RISE webpage in Insite. Applications are open through December 23, 2020.

  • The application is open to all students, faculty and staff.
  • Projects, initiatives and/or solutions should align with HSC Values, the HSC DEI Framework, and the HSC 2021-2023 Strategic Roadmap.
  • Applicants should make every effort to collaborate with other schools, departments or individuals so that we can be efficient in the use of HSC resources.
  • Applications will not be considered for events or department/school specific training.
  • Once applications are approved, further information will be posted on the webpage regarding expectation for presentations.
  • Presentations will begin in January with expected distribution of approved funds in February -March.
  • There will be another opportunity for applications in Spring 2021.

If you have questions or need additional information, please email HSCRISETeam@unthsc.edu.

Best of luck to everyone!
