HSC’s Priority Care Clinic—which provides care for employees and their families—is still providing patient care via Telehealth during the COVID-19 pandemic. In-person visits have been temporarily suspended.
It’s easy to participate–you will need a smart phone or a tablet or computer with a webcam to take part in a telehealth appointment. Here’s how the process works:
• Call 817-735-CARE (2273) for an appointment.
• A staff member will schedule your appointment and tell you how to check in online.
• Once you check in, you will receive a link to a secure HIPAA-compliant Zoom meeting for your telehealth appointment.
• A medical assistant will call to obtain your telemedicine consent and to get your temperature (if you have a thermometer), pharmacy information, reconcile medications on file and determine the reason for your visit.
• Then you go to the Zoom meeting for the appointment with the provider.
The telehealth virtual visits have been well received. A few patient comments since the transition:
• “The PA met with me via telemedicine due to COVID-19 precautions. Even though it was over video chat I really felt like I was cared for and my worries were met with explanation. It was a very enjoyable experience.”
• “It was helpful and easy to understand what the provider was explaining to me as I described my medical need.”
• “So friendly and calm, very thorough and caring.”

All HSC clinics are seeing new and established patients via telehealth as well. Should an employee or family member need specialized care, the Priority Care Clinic staff can assist in referring them to providers in the HSC Clinical Practice Group. Our clinics include obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, allergy, family medicine, cardiology, gastroenterology, geriatric primary care, geriatric psychology, geriatric neurology, osteopathic manipulative medicine and dermatology.
