New Learning Portal to support strategic goals, professional development

UNT System Talent Management Director Terry Ekeland sent this email to all team members on Nov. 2, 2017:

We are pleased to announce the launch of a new online Learning Portal to support professional development, learning sessions and training for faculty, staff and student employees at every location. The mobile-friendly online Learning Portal will be available beginning Monday, Nov. 13.

As we finalize the transition, the current EIS training module will be unavailable beginning Friday, Nov. 3 at 5 p.m.

For information about classes scheduled the week of Nov. 6-10, please visit the Talent Management SharePoint calendar (login required or access from webpage.) Since online registration will be unavailable, please go ahead and attend a class that interests you.

The Learning Portal replaces the current EIS training module and consolidates professional development activities for employees in a single, online location that includes tracking and record keeping functions for individuals and managers. Talent Management’s scheduled classes, including the popular Emerging Leaders and Supervisory Building Blocks programs, will be available for registration through the Learning Portal. Additionally, campus departments (such as Risk Management/Safety, Compliance and Business Support Services) will use the Learning Portal framework for registration and online training for their areas. For the first time, training activities from these areas will be available through one learning system for all locations.

We hope that you will take advantage of the full capabilities of this workplace-enhancing tool when it is available. We will distribute additional information with details about using the Learning Portal as we near the Nov. 13 launch date.

Thank you for your support, participation and feedback regarding Talent Management programs, and for this new and valuable service.
