To: HSC Faculty, Staff and Students
From: Dr. Michael Mathis, Dean of the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences

I am pleased to share that the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences has received preliminary accreditation through the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to offer an online bachelor’s degree in biomedical sciences. With the initial cohort slated to begin in the Fall of 2022, this will be the first undergraduate program at HSC.

We are excited about offering an accessible and affordable undergraduate program designed for degree completion with a robust curriculum centered around the next generation of students seeking a career in health care.

Some of the highlights of our new program include:

  • Convenient, 100% online format
  • Flexible completion in four to six semesters
  • Requires 73 earned, transferred credit hours from an accredited undergraduate institution
  • Graduates will be prepared with a curriculum integrating biomedical and health sciences courses to pursue professional careers in a variety of health care fields
