Congratulations to Hongxia Zhang for receiving the James W. Simpkins Predoctoral Award in Neuroscience Studies presented by the Institute for Healthy Aging for her presentation entitled, “Circulating old exosomes drive synapse loss and deteriorate stroke outcomes via complement-microglia axis.”
Ms. Zhang is a student in the Department of Pharmacology & Neuroscience graduate program mentored by Dr. Kunlin Jin.

Congratulations to Ella Kasanga for receiving the Preventable Aging Award presented by the Preventable Aging Foundation for her presentation entitled, “Caloric restriction attenuates motor function decline in rats: Evidence from advanced middle-aged cohort.” Ms. Kasanga is a student in the Department of Pharmacology & Neuroscience mentored by Dr. Michael Salvatore.

Congratulations to Jessica Proulx for receiving the Health Science Innovation Award presented by the Department of Pharmacology & Neuroscience for her presentation entitled, “Poly lactic-co-glycolic-acid (PLGA) mediate gene delivery to astrocytes requires arginine-modified polyethyleneimine (PEI) polymer to facilitate gene expression.”
Ms. Proulx is a student in the Department of Cell Biology, Immunology, and Microbiology graduate program and presented research done in Dr. Anuja Ghorpade’s laboratory.
