Student Food Pantry

The University of North Texas Health Science Center CARE Team has recognized that in order for students to be well and succeed academically, basic needs must be addressed. As a result, the Office of Student Affairs has established a food pantry in an effort to assist UNTHSC students impacted by food insecurity. The vision is for the UNTHSC community to take a collaborative stance to address student hunger and foster student success. The UNTHSC food pantry launched during the fall semester of 2016 and is housed in the Student Affairs Administration suite (suite 220) in the Student Service Center in room 224.

Who It Serves

Any current UNTHSC student in need can visit the food pantry 8am-5pm Monday-Friday. Students can go directly to Suite 220, and the food pantry is located in room 224.

The use of the UNTHSC food pantry does not require application or approval. It is available to any student in need. The Office of Student Affairs has established protocols that allow for student confidentiality and dignity to be maintained and respected.

Students who visit the food pantry can request to meet with a staff member to discuss any difficulties they may be facing by checking-in at the front desk of Student Affairs on the 2nd floor of the Student Service Center and simply asking to meet with a staff member from the CARE Team. Students can also choose to email the CARE Team to set up an appointment as well. When appropriate, referral to additional campus and/or community resources will be made.
