Jackie Williams

Jackie Williams, Manager, Faculty Affairs & HIT – Academic Affairs
Jackie Williams might not always know the answer to every question, but she will go out of her way to find it. And she’ll do it in a timely manner. She’s the kind of person who always has others’ best interest at heart and is quick to get everyone involved. While she’s good at the little things that improve life at UNTHSC on a daily basis, she also is a visionary who sees the greater good and is willing to put in the work to make it happen.
Nominated by: Blair Chappell

Stephanie Cuellar

Stephanie Cuellar, Student Affairs Associate – Student Affairs
With her seemingly endless energy, Stephanie Cueller is always ready to tackle every challenge that comes her way. A true team player, she’s the first person to find ways to bring people from different backgrounds together. When she discovered that some students felt excluded from family programming on campus, she found a way to revamp the program to attract a wider group of people. She also uses her position as a platform to provide learning opportunities for students.
Nominated by: Lori Saunders

Betsy Friauf

Betsy Friauf, Sr. Communications Specialist – Office of Communication
Betsy Friauf turned her passion for gardening into a way to grow food to help feed others. She has poured her heart into helping a team create a flourishing Community Garden. Most recently she stepped in while others who usually handle the responsibility of the garden were on leave and put all of her energy into making Planting Day a huge success. Ultimately her dedication led to a 20-pound produce donation on Planting Day for a total of 74 pounds this year.
Nominated by: Cari Hyden and Sandy Bauman

Jeff Arrington

Lt. Jeff Arrington – UNT Police
He’s always willing to make time for those who need him, but in March, Lt. Jeff Arrington’s kindness, patience and respect really showed through when a young, apparently homeless man arrived on campus. Jeff spoke kindly to the young man, who ultimately allowed Lt. Arrington and another UNTHSC officer to search his clothing. Lt. Arrington’s approach demonstrated his compassion, care and humility.
Nominated by: Brandi Lara

Tony Martinez

Tony Martinez, Education Tech Support Specialist – Medical Education
Tony Martinez has been described as the heart of the Simulation Lab and for good reason. His can-do attitude has made him the go-to person who never turns down a request. Despite a full schedule of testings for students in the lab, he responded without interrupting testing. Whenever he is asked to record a small group or troubleshoot the large auditorium in the MET, he makes it happen.
Nominated by: Dr. Nancy Tierney
