Dr. Schwarz has served as the Director of Clinical Education for the PT department for 11 years. I’ve gotten the privilege to “collaborate” with her for 3 years now, she’s never made me feel like I work for her but we work together! She constantly strives to ensure our students get situated with their clinical experiences by building relationships with our clinical partners. She has the ability to find last minute placements by connecting with our clinical instructors and alumni. Even though she has a reputation of toughness among our students, she has a serving heart and you can see that in her actions (I mean, she is one of the UNTHSC 50 Heroes). We often have conversations on my growth opportunities and how she can help me reach my goals. She’s a great leader and collaborator!
